Given
all
the
ethics
issues
that
seem
to
trail
Republicans
and
hang
around
like
a
bad
stench,
being
placed
in
charge
of
ethics
for
Trump
seems
like
a
bum
deal.
But
alas!
Someone’s
got
to
do
it,
I
guess.
And
Biglaw
got
tapped
for
the
gig.
Recently,
Eric
Trump
announced
that
Quinn
Emanuel
partner
William
Burck
will
be
the
outside
ethics
advisor
for
Trump
Organization
during
Donald
Trump’s
second
term
as
president.
He
noted,
“The
Trump
Organization
is
dedicated
to
not
just
meeting
but
vastly
exceeding
its
legal
and
ethical
obligations
during
my
father’s
presidency.”
As
with
his
first
term,
Donald
Trump
will
not
be
divesting
from
the
company
or
putting
it
into
a
blind
trust.
Though
Eric
Trump
insists
there
will
be
a
“very
large
wall”
between
the
Trump
Org
and
the
federal
government.
But
as
a
reminder,
Trump-related
businesses
received
$7.8
million
in
foreign
payments
from
20
countries
during
the
Trump
I
White
House
stint.
Burck
told
Reuters
this
role
will
have
no
impact
on
his
work
at
Quinn
Emanuel.
