Once again, we’re seeing a bunch of rumors that Donald Trump is unhappy with his Commerce Secretary and might just have staff carry Wilbur Ross out to the street during one of his upcoming office naps.
Per one report from CNBC:
President Donald Trump has told aides and allies that he is considering removing Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross after a stinging Supreme Court defeat on adding a citizenship question to the census, according to multiple people familiar with the conversations.
The Slipper King has been apparently snoring on thin ice for a while now, what with his reduced role in China talks, all that Census drama, and his total lack of energy and charisma.
One source inside the DC policy scene tells us “Mnuchin and White House staff handle all of [Ross’] real Commerce workload and everybody knows it. He’s doing literal moon policy and TV hits…It’s a surprise to me that he’s still there.”
Wilbur has indeed been sent to the allegorical moon by Trump, and he doesn’t seem to do too much, but our question about firing Wilbur remains: Who do you get to replace him?
After all, wealthy octogenarian corporate raiders with sketchy financial dealing backgrounds and no humility whatsoever don’t exactly grow on trees…
Holy shit, you guys: Carl Icahn is going to be Commerce Secretary.
